    I live in Georgia.

It doesn't get much more humid than around here.

I seem to improve in drier conditions, but thats usaully at the beach where sun and salt water are also a factor.
    • I was visiting a friend in Guerneville (1.5 hours from the bay area. 20 mins from the ocean) and my skin became remarkably better for the duration.

I think the salt air really helped.

I live very close to lake Michigan, it's pretty humid year round here in Chicago, and my hands still look like hamburger a lot of the time.

My rheumatologist is surprised that the enbrel I inject (for pa) hasn't had a + effect on the skin outbreaks.
      • I used to live in Guerneville myself, and Rio Nido also.
        (small world)

I am remembering that my skin used to be happier years ago when I was surfing, but since it was the sonoma coast I don't think it was the sun. Maybe salt water helps?

I know some people swear by soaking in salt baths, this seems like an easy thing to try.
        • duh, I for got to finish talking about Guerneville.

It is interesting that your skin got better there. I was living out there when I started having my first bad outbreaks.
      • Went to India during summer and stay out sun lot more. My skin definitly looked better. When got back to New Jersey stay same during the summer. Change got little worse in fall but now in winter my skin is worse.
  • I live in Missouri, so, yeah, pretty humid in the summer. Pretty dry in the winter (blame the heat). I haven't connected the state of my skin to either of those, and when I travel I stress and I don't have my regular routine so the skin's pretty unhappy. Even vacations. Though, I'd love to be able to spend something like 6 weeks somewhere dry and sunny but not too hot and see what my skin would be like then. :)

I do know that my lesions crack more in the wintertime, and that's been explained away by the fact that the dry air sucks all the moisture out of my skin. Bleh. Winter is the time when I *have* to moisturize (and man.. I hate doing that). I stop doing it as soon as the heat goes off. :)
